Block 1: Work effectively in cyber security

Learn how to work safely and effectively in cyber roles. You’ll build teamwork, communication, and research skills while understanding legal, privacy, and ethical responsibilities in the industry.

BSBWHS309 - Contribute effectively to WHS communications and consultation processes

BSBINS401 - Analyse and present research information

ICTICT443 - Work collaboratively in the ICT industry

VU23223 - Apply cyber security legislation, privacy and ethical practices

Block 2: Cyber security concepts

Establish a solid foundation in how cyber security works. This block covers networks, threats, and testing — and includes a hands-on project to apply what you’ve learned in a practical way.

VU23213 - Utilise basic network concepts and protocols required in cyber security

VU23215 - Test concepts and procedures for cyber security

VU23217 - Recognise the need for cyber security in an organisation

VU23220 - Develop and carry out a cyber security industry project

Block 3: Secure a network from cyber threats

Gain the skills to secure devices and manage network security. You’ll learn data analysis, endpoint protection, Windows security, and how to keep systems safe from attack.

Block 4: Managing cyber incidents and recovery

Learn how to handle real-world security issues. This block teaches you how to build security infrastructure, respond to cyber incidents, and find and fix website vulnerabilities.

Do I need a Unique Student Identifier (USI) to enrol?

Yes, all students undertaking nationally recognised training in Australia must have a USI. You can create one for free at usi.gov.au.

What are the entry requirements for the course?

There are no academic prerequisites needed to enrol into this course. However, you must meet a minimum standard of English language, literacy and numeracy. So as to ensure that all students are fully informed of all aspects of their training course and the abilities required to complete their course, all students prior to enrolment must complete the online LLN (language, literacy and numeracy) assessment. How is the course delivered?

This course features a mix of content delivery mediums, including online content, live webinars, and in-person training.

What support services are available to students?

Comtech provides comprehensive support, including assistance with LLN, disability support, educational and IT support, and guidance on assessments.

Can I receive credit for previous experience or qualifications?

Yes, Comtech offers Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Credit Transfer (CT) for students who have relevant prior experience or qualifications. You’ll need to provide evidence, such as certificates or work experience, for assessment.
